Job summary

The Cadillac Formula 1 Team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to own critical components from concept through to manufacture, testing and trackside validation in a high‑performance environment.

You will lead the design of high‑performance systems, including suspension, braking, and cooling, and develop CAD concepts in CATIA while collaborating with aerodynamics, vehicle performance and manufacturing teams to maximise on‑track performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/3DX.
• Experience in suspension, braking, cooling, steering or thermal systems.
• Strong manufacturing, materials selection and structural analysis knowledge.
• Ability to deliver complex projects within tight deadlines.
• Excellent cross‑functional communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high‑performance mechanical components.
• Create CAD concepts, layouts and detailed designs.
• Design inboard suspension, braking systems, dampers and steering components.
• Own projects from concept through release, manufacture, testing and on‑car validation.
• Collaborate across teams to maximise vehicle performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
• Contribute to innovation using new materials and additive manufacturing.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and quality standards.
