Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Cardiff, UK, seeks an ESME Application Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design and optimize the manufacturing process of the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME), analyze processes for safety, and contribute to design for Built-In Quality.

You will collaborate with Quality, ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to ensure safety, quality, and operational standards are met, create work instructions, and document process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication in multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven with demonstrated project leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Designing and optimizing the manufacturing process of the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
• Analyzing production processes to ensure personnel safety.
• Collaborating with the Quality Department to develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures and equipment planning.
• Contributing to the design process of the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME) for Built-In Quality.
• Conducting root cause analysis for build process issues and documenting learnings.
• Creating and maintaining manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Documenting and communicating assembly process developments and innovations.
• Working with the ERS Assembly Manager and High Voltage Safety Supervisor to ensure safety, quality, and operational standards.
