Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Bolton is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to help safely build high-performance battery systems. You will lead design and optimization of ES/ESME manufacturing processes, ensure safety, and drive quality throughout production.

You will collaborate across teams, analyze root causes, and develop clear work instructions to support built-in quality and continuous improvement in a fast-paced motorsport environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for ES and ESME.
• Design/analyze production processes ensuring personnel safety.
• Collaborate with Quality to develop in-process and end-of-line procedures.
• Contribute to design process to achieve Built-In Quality.
• Perform root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document and communicate assembly process developments clearly.
• Coordinate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor for standards.
