Job summary

Riverside Resourcing & Consultancy Ltd. is seeking an MOT Technician to perform MOT tests on retail and workshop vehicles, ensuring DVSA-compliant procedures and accurate communication with service reception.

• Ability to identify worn and faulty components per DVSA standards.
• Current, full UK driving license for relevant vehicle classes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests on retail and internally prepared workshop vehicles to high standards.
• Communicate MOT position with Service Reception for accurate customer communication.
• Maintain on-site MOT lane performance reports for management.
• Regularly perform auditable equipment and facility safety checks.
• Complete MOT logs and DVSA-reportable data.
• Assist with DVSA visit checks and site visits actions.
• Keep the MOT lane and related areas up to required standards.

Job description

40 hours a week – Monday – Friday 08.00 to 16.30, and you will be required to work Saturday morning on Rota 4 - 5hrs

Day to day, you will be:

• Carry out MOT tests on retail & internally prepared workshop vehicles to the highest possible standards
• Continued & updated communication with Service Reception regarding MOT test position for accurate & time-sensitive customer communication
• Carry out on-site MOT lane performance reportable to Management teams
• Carry out regular auditable equipment & facility safety checks
• Completion of MOT logs along with DVSA reportable data
• To assist with DVSA visit checks, along with working with any alterations or actions from site visits
• Make sure upkeep of facility/MOT lane and associated areas are to the required standards

Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:

• Qualification -You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in PC/LCV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs. What’s more, you will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
