Job summary

Rygor Auto in Oxford is seeking an experienced LCV technician to join their growing technical team. You’ll be responsible for safety, quality and compliant maintenance of customers' vehicles, with an emphasis on Mercedes-Benz trucks and hands-on diagnostics.

The role offers extensive training, annual appraisals and progression opportunities, with overtime paid at time and a half and a shift pattern to suit candidates.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in HGV repair and maintenance.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles; ability to identify worn or faulty components.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on Mercedes-Benz trucks.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain workshop inventory and cleanliness; manage documentation and warranty claims.
• Assist diagnostic teams to plan repairs and ensure timely completion.

The Job

Rygor Oxford are looking for an experienced LCV technician to join their growing technical team at their Oxford workshop. You will be responsible for the safety, quality and compliant maintenance of their customers' vehicles.

Day to day, you will be:

• Performing major and minor repairs to Mercedes-Benz trucks.
• Performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services.
• Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
• Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
• Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
• Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
• Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.

Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:

You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus, will have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs. What’s more, you will need the ability to identify worn & faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle classes.
