Job summary

Rygor Service Solutions in Southampton is seeking an experienced Trailer Technician to service heavy goods vehicles and trailers. You will perform major and minor repairs, conduct regular preventive maintenance, and assist on-road repairs when required.

Applicants should hold a level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI in HGV repair and maintenance, with DVSA-aligned diagnostic skills and a valid UK driving licence. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance.
• Experienced Trailer Technician with ability to identify worn and faulty components per DVSA standards.
• Must have a current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle classes.

Responsibilities

• Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
• Regular inspection and preventive maintenance, such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
• Maintain workshop inventory and keep area clean from oil spills and dust.
• Work with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs.
• Keep records of vehicles repaired or serviced.
• Provide repair services to clients on the road in emergencies.
• Complete relevant documentation and escalate warranty claims when needed.

£19.50 per hour + overtime at x1.5 hr
48 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 06:00 – 18:00

Day to day, you will be:

• Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
• Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
• Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
• Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
• Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.
• Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.

Qualification -You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance. You must be an experienced Trailer Technician with the ability toidentifyworn and faulty componentsin accordance withthe DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.IRTEC accreditation is desirable.
