Job summary

Swipe Right Recruitment is seeking an experienced MOT Tester for a respected, family-owned Nottingham garage. You will perform DVSA-compliant MOT inspections and assist with servicing and light repairs in a supportive workshop environment.

The role offers £32,000-£36,000 basic salary (DOE) plus a monthly bonus, with Monday–Friday hours and alternate Saturday mornings. Join a long-established team prioritising quality and customer service.

Qualifications

• A current and valid DVSA MOT Tester qualification.
• Previous experience as an MOT Tester in a busy workshop.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations.
• Identify defects and advise on any remedial work required.
• Complete all MOT documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and light mechanical repairs when required.
• Perform vehicle health checks and identify any additional maintenance requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment.
• Work closely with fellow technicians to ensure excellent workshop efficiency.
• Deliver outstanding workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Hours:

Monday to Friday: 8:30am 5:30pm

Saturday: 8:30am 12:30pm (Alternate Saturdays)

The Role

As an MOT Tester, you'll play a key role within the workshop, carrying out MOT inspections to DVSA standards while also supporting the team with servicing, MOT repairs and light mechanical work where required.

You'll be responsible for ensuring every vehicle is inspected thoroughly and professionally, maintaining the high standards that have helped establish the business as one of the area's most trusted independent garages.

Key Responsibilities
