Swipe Right Recruitment is recruiting an experienced MOT Tester for a respected family-owned garage in Nottingham. You will carry out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards and assist with servicing and light mechanical work.

A current DVSA MOT Tester qualification and a full UK driving licence are essential. The role offers £32,000–£36,000 basic, DOE, plus a monthly bonus, with Monday to Friday hours and alternate Saturday mornings.

Hours:

Monday to Friday: 8:30am 5:30pm

Saturday: 8:30am 12:30pm (Alternate Saturdays)

The Role

As an MOT Tester, you'll play a key role within the workshop, carrying out MOT inspections to DVSA standards while also supporting the team with servicing, MOT repairs and light mechanical work where required.

You'll be responsible for ensuring every vehicle is inspected thoroughly and professionally, maintaining the high standards that have helped establish the business as one of the area's most trusted independent garages.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations.
• Identify defects and advise on any remedial work required.
• Complete all MOT documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and light mechanical repairs when required.
• Perform vehicle health checks and identify any additional maintenance requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment.
• Work closely with fellow technicians to ensure excellent workshop efficiency.
• Deliver outstanding workmanship and customer satisfaction.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• A current and valid DVSA MOT Tester qualification.
• Previous experience working as an MOT Tester within a busy workshop.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A positive, reliable and professional attitude.
