Job summary

Perfect Placement, on behalf of a family-run independent service centre in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, seeks an experienced MOT Tester to join their well-established workshop team. You will enjoy a competitive salary of £30,000–£45,000 per year, plus a performance bonus of around £5,000, 30 days’ annual leave, in-house training, and pension.

Full-time or part-time hours are available with a typical 8:00–17:30 day, Monday to Friday, and a strong emphasis on quality workmanship and customer

Qualifications

• Valid Class 4 MOT licence
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• NVQ Level 3 or IMI qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Or time-served mechanic with active MOT licence
• Proven experience in vehicle servicing and repairs
• Strong communication and team player

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests on customers' vehicles in accordance with Ministry standards
• Diagnose vehicle issues and carry out service and repair work as necessary
• Provide workshop support to ensure efficient operations
• Liaise effectively with team members to maintain workflow and customer satisfaction
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections and repairs
• Uphold quality standards and compliance with safety regulations

Dutiesof a MOT Tester:

• Conduct MOT tests on customers' vehicles in accordance with Ministry standards
• Diagnose vehicle issues and carry out service and repair work as necessary

Requirements of a MOT Tester:

• Ideally NVQ Level 3 or IMI qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; however, experienced time-served mechanics with active MOT licences will also be considered
• Proven experience in vehicle servicing and repairs
• Strong communication skills and team player attitude
• Ability to work efficiently and uphold high standards of qualityThis MOT Tester position offers flexible hours suitable for those seeking either full-time or part-time employment. The full-time schedule runs Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 5:30pm, with two 30-minute breaks.
