Job summary

Co-operative Bank plc in the UK seeks a Mortgage Underwriter to accurately process mortgage applications and ensure policy compliance. You will review documents, perform precise calculations, and liaise with brokers, solicitors and customers to progress cases in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

This role requires strong attention to detail and a proactive approach, with hybrid working after training in Coventry and two days per week in Cheltenham.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a customer-focused role.
• Experience handling more challenging and/or complex queries.
• Excellent communication skills including over the phone.
• Good problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Desirable: Mortgage knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Process mortgage applications accurately through systems and ensure policies are met.
• Underwrite cases by checking mortgage calculations and documents.
• Call mortgage brokers, solicitors and customers to update on progress and gather information.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Highlight discrepancies or concerns and maintain excellent customer service.
