Job summary

The Nottingham Building Society is seeking a Head of Mortgage Underwriting at Head Office, Nottingham. This leadership role shapes origination, underwriting standards and portfolio performance with a focus on customer outcomes and intermediary partnerships.

You will lead high-performing teams across residential, buy-to-let, commercial and specialist lending, drive improvement, governance and regulatory compliance, and partner with risk and operations to deliver resilient mortgage services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience across mortgage origination, underwriting and portfolio management across residential, buy-to-let, commercial, self-build and specialist lending.
• Strong understanding of responsible lending, mortgage operations and customer servicing best practice.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks including MCOB, FCA requirements and financial crime controls.
• Proven experience leading high-performing operational teams and coaching colleagues.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret MI, KPIs and performance data.
