Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) for a family-run cheese and fine foods producer in Preston. The role covers hands-on maintenance across the production site, fault finding, PPMs, and continuous improvement, with a Monday–Friday 07:00–16:00 shift and a strong emphasis on food safety standards.

You will work to minimise downtime, support installation and modification of equipment, and help drive cost reductions while developing your engineering skills within a

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining production machinery.
• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery
• Diagnose faults and minimise production downtime
• Provide engineering support to production and maintenance activities
• Identify opportunities to improve machinery, processes and equipment
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures in line with food safety standards
• Support the installation and modification of equipment
• Implement cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
• Support the training of employees on new and modified equipment
