Job summary

MorePeople is assisting a leading fresh food manufacturer in recruiting a Maintenance/Mechanical Engineer to join their site engineering team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United Kingdom. The role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and packing lines, diagnose and repair mechanical faults, support preventive maintenance schedules, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining high hygiene

Qualifications

A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
Proven maintenance experience within an FMCG, food or manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with production machinery.
Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift pattern covering days and nights.
A proactive, hands-on and safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production and packing lines
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtime
Supporting PPM schedules and equipment reliability
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment to strict hygiene and safety standards
Liaising with production teams to keep lines running efficiently
