ETS Consulting Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a market leading FMCG manufacturer in Preston for a Maintenance Engineer role.

The position focuses on setting equipment, speeding up line changeovers, and maintaining line performance in a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Experience with preventive maintenance (PPM) systems.
• Familiarity with quick change over techniques.

Responsibilities

• Set up and align equipment according to procedures and time limits.
• Streamline and speed up changeovers on packing line equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers and order parts as needed.
• Diagnose problems and implement permanent solutions.
• Attend breakdowns and work to the PPM schedule in production.
• Produce and implement line trials with follow-up feedback.
• Measure and improve equipment performance and efficiency.
• Test, evaluate, modify and improve equipment performance.
• Support development of Line Setters following procedures.
• Collaborate with Line Operators to maximize operating efficiency.
• Adhere to Quality, Health & Safety & GMP requirements.

Maintenance Engineer

Location: Preston

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000+ Pension + Overtime

Shift Pattern - 6-2pm, 2-10pm Monday to Friday

The Company

My client is a market leading privately owned producer of FMCG products with over 40 years manufacturing experience, supplying to all the major multiples, and employing over 500 people UK wide. They are looking to expand their strong maintenance team, with the addition of a mechanical setting engineer, based on an increase in the manufacturing output of the Preston plant.

The Role

• Simplifying and speeding up of changeovers of packing line equipment
• Liaising with suppliers and ordering parts
• Problem solving and diagnostics, finding permanent solutions
• Attend breakdowns and work to PPM schedule requirements within production / manufacturing
• Producing and implementing line trials providing follow up and feedback
• Measuring & improving performance of equipment
• Testing, evaluating, modifying and improving equipment
• Support the development of Line Setters in accordance with procedures
• Work with and support Line Operators to improve their competence and ability to operate the equipment in the most efficient way possible.
