Job summary

Peaple Talent in Preston, Lancashire is recruiting a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing site. You'll provide hands-on mechanical support across automated filling and production equipment, in a clean, modern environment, with reactive maintenance, PPMs and setup duties.

The role offers Monday-Friday hours with shift allowance and strong overtime. Candidates should have robust fault-finding skills, practical hands-on approach and the ability to work with

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience carrying out reactive and planned maintenance on production machinery.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support machinery set-up and adjustments.
• Experience working with automated manufacturing or production equipment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with both engineering and production teams.
• A proactive and reliable approach to maintenance and equipment reliability.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned mechanical maintenance across production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and minimise production downtime.
• Support the set-up, adjustment and efficient running of production machinery.
• Work closely with line setters and production teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain and repair mechanical components, including pneumatic systems and associated equipment.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine equipment checks.
• Identify recurring faults and support improvements to equipment reliability.
• Assist the wider engineering team with improvement and project work where required.Maintain high standards of health, safety and engineering best practice.
