Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR Limited is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Module Assembly to lead demonstrators and experiments across Derby, Manchester or Warrington with hybrid working. Weekly travel to Factory 2050 is required, and BPSS security checks apply.

You will coordinate internal teams, suppliers and partners to ensure timely, safe and cost-effective delivery of advances in modular assembly. The role spans design-for-manufacture, process development and production-readiness, with

Qualifications

• Significant practical experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly and production-readiness principles.
• Experience delivering high-value or complex R&D, industrialisation or NPI projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of modularisation demonstrators and experiments to meet technical requirements.
• Assess designs and processes for manufacturability and testability.
• Coordinate internal, supplier and delivery-partner resources to meet budgets and schedules.
• Define and plan engineering work packages; manage risks and interfaces.
• Engage cross-functional teams to align requirements and priorities.
• Capture lessons learned to inform future design and industrialisation decisions.
• Contribute to multi-million pound programmes and ensure safety, quality and cost targets.
• Deliver module assembly strategies in line with the modularisation approach.
