Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician. You will work from a fully equipped RAC van on scheduled appointments, performing servicing, diagnostics, and substantial repairs at members’ driveways or workplaces.

You’ll benefit from a base salary around £40,178 with potential OTE up to £52,000, and a clear 40-hour week with occasional Saturdays. There is guaranteed overtime, premium-rate overtime options, and a range of benefits including pension, life assurance, and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience.
• 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member-focused advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
