Job summary

RAC is recruiting Mobile Mechanics for the SMR division. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs on members’ vehicles at driveways or workplaces, with a structured development path toward accreditation.

You will work a 40-hour week with some Saturdays, using RAC tools and a fully equipped van. Ideal candidates have NVQ2 or extensive hands‑on experience, a clean UK driving licence, and a commitment to high‑quality service with ongoing training and career growth

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Investing in your technical development and progression through RAC's accreditation pathway.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
