Job summary

The RAC in the West Midlands is seeking a Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) technician to perform planned servicing and repairs on members' vehicles. Work is scheduled pre-booked with no emergency callouts, ensuring steady workflow and focus on quality workmanship.

The role offers a full-time 40-hour week, core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays. Base salary is £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000 plus overtime opportunities and room for career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
