Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division, placing mobile technicians on pre‑booked schedules to service and repair members’ vehicles at driveways or workplaces. You’ll work in a team oriented, structured environment with planned jobs and modern mobile diagnostics.

Expect a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, a 40‑hour week, and opportunities for overtime and bonuses. You’ll enjoy support, tools, and a clear career path within a national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
