Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You’ll perform planned servicing and diagnostics for members at driveways and workplaces using a fully equipped RAC van, with a pre-booked schedule and no emergency callouts.

Expect a 40-hour week (8:30–17:00), with 1 in 4 Saturdays, and earning potential up to £52,000 with base £40,178. Opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and career development are available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Education
