Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to service and repair vehicles across the Northampton cluster, including Northampton, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Daventry, Towcester and Rushden. The role centers on pre-booked work, diagnostics, and on-site repairs rather than reactive callouts, with a clear digital schedule and full support.

You'll operate a fully equipped RAC van, follow structured processes, and deliver high-quality service with independence and career development

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points).
• 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (or 5+ years in a similar role).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and diagnostics.
• Perform in-depth repairs and provide member advice.
• Work through a scheduled list of pre-booked appointments.
• Use mobile equipment to diagnose and fix issues on-site.
• Follow RAC standards for vehicle safety checks.
