Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. The role offers a base salary of £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, and a guaranteed overtime option within a 40-hour week across Saturdays.

You’ll operate in the Walsall cluster, pre-booked schedules, and use advanced diagnostics on-site at members’ driveways or workplaces. Overtime bonuses and a car salary scheme after 12 months add to the package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

5+ years experience

2+ years with NVQ route

Full UK driving licence

Education
