Job summary

Octane Recruitment is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for a nationwide breakdown provider in Chester. You will service, maintain and repair vehicles at customers' homes or workplaces, following a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm with one Saturday per month.

The role offers £40,170 per year (inclusive of LWA) with OTE in excess of £52,000, and overtime paid at time and a half. A comprehensive benefits package includes pension, life cover, progression, and training

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles in a workshop or mobile role
• Ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures
• Customer-focused approach
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations (driveway, office car park, etc.)
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and brake inspections
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems using diagnostics tools
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers
• Handle payments via card transactions
• Keep records of work performed and parts used
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and repair techniques

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph)

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What you'll need to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, orequivalent)
