Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician to deliver workshop-quality servicing at customers’ homes and workplaces. You’ll work from a fully equipped van, manage your day, and build trusted customer relationships while using your technical skills to keep the nation moving.

The role combines interim, full and major vehicle services, brake and tyre work, diagnostics and air conditioning. You’ll be supported by a structured induction and clear career progression as our mobile team grows.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in vehicle maintenance & repair (or time-served experience).
• Proven experience in a vehicle servicing & maintenance role.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great communication skills and confidence dealing with customers.

Responsibilities

• Interim, Full and Major vehicle services.
• Brake pad, shoe and disc replacement.
• Steering, suspension and brake repairs.
• Vehicle inspections and fault diagnostics.
• Tyre fitting, puncture repairs and wheel balancing.
• Air conditioning servicing and re-gassing.

• Comprising a base salary of £31,025
• A monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £2,700 Per year
• 44 hour week, working 8am - 6pm shifts over 5 days, including 1 in 2 weekends

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same as you use your technical expertise across a wide range of servicing, maintenance and repair work, helping to keep the nation moving.

• Interim, Full and Major vehicle services
• Brake pad, shoe and disc replacement
• Steering, suspension and brake repairs
• Vehicle inspections and fault diagnostics
• Tyre fitting, puncture repairs and wheel balancing
• Air conditioning servicing and re-gassing
