Job summary

Halfords is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic in the UK. The role covers servicing, repairs, clutch and timing belt replacements, and in-depth diagnostics across electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

You’ll join a large automotive service network with progression opportunities and hybrid training paths. The ideal candidate has a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience, a full driving licence (≤9 points), and proven diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair/replacement work, including clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out diagnostics and complex repairs on electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Work on more advanced replacements (coolant, diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).

• On-target earnings up to £43,220
• Comprising a base salary of £33,000 - £36,620
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,600 per year.
