Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Liverpool to service, maintain and repair customer vehicles at their location or workplace. The role offers a base salary with uncapped overtime potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will service EVs and conventional vehicles, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and provide recommendations. A valid UK driving licence is required, with a preference for Level 2/3 qualifications and at least two years'

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds / NVQ / IMI or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience (workshop or mobile).
• Full UK driving licence with up to 5 points (no bans).

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles at customer locations (driveways, car parks, etc.), including EVs.
• Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools/software to identify and fix problems; keep customers informed.
• Handle payments via card transactions and maintain accurate service records.
• Keep up-to-date with automotive tech and document parts used.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Liverpool

Pay / salary: £40,170 Basic + Bonus (Up to £6,000) + Overtime at 1.5x (£28.96ph) + Company Van + Fuel Card + Tools Provided, OTE in excess of £52,000+ (Guaranteed overtime option to increase your basic salary)

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role Monday Friday, 8:30am 5pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays, 40 hours per week 1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile VehicleTechnician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile VehicleTechnician role

• Must have a minimum of a Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair, ideally Level 3 but will consider level 2. (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.

• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 5 points, no bans
