Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician for servicing, maintenance and repairs at customer locations across the UK. The base is Shepherd's Bush with a 40-hour week from Monday to Saturday, including optional overtime for higher earnings, and a strong progression path.

Role requires Level 2 (Level 3 preferred) in light vehicle maintenance and repair, plus 2 years post-qualification experience and a full UK driving licence (6 points max).

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Customer-focused approach to service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations such as driveways or car parks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections).
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools/software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate with customers about repairs and recommendations.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep up to date with automotive tech and repair techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of work and parts used.

Mobile Vehicle Technician

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via pre-booked appointments, at customers home address or place of work.

This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Shift and schedule

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays. 1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
