Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service and repair at customers' homes or workplaces across the UK. The role is full-time, home-based with 40 hours weekly, 5 days across Monday to Saturday, 8am–8pm, with optional overtime is available.

Includes overtime earning up to £5,000 and a bonus scheme up to £6,000 per year, plus pension, life cover, and breakdown benefits. Requires Level 2 (Level 3 preferred) in light vehicle maintenance and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
• A customer-focused approach
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via pre-booked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Pay / salary: £55,625 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: In Excess of £62,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.
