Octane Recruitment Limited is sourcing a Mobile Vehicle Technician for a leading national breakdown company. You will service and repair vehicles at customer locations, including EVs, across a 40-hour week with 5 days on a rotating schedule.

The role requires a Level 2/3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair and a valid UK driving licence. Overtime and bonus schemes are available, with comprehensive benefits and career progression opportunities.

Formación

• Minimum Level 2 (ideally Level 3) in light vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in workshop or mobile role.

Responsabilidades

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveway, car park, etc.).
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections).
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

£55,625 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: In Excess of £62,000

Shift and schedule

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
