Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Mobile Kitchen Assistant to support the Catering Supervisor across Mansfield and surrounding areas, with occasional cover at Nottingham City schools.

You will help prepare and serve school meals, keep the kitchen clean, and travel between sites to cover sickness or absence, working term-time hours from 9:00am to 2:00pm as part of a 16.25 hour week.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of good customer care practice.
• Awareness of basic hygiene principles.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Business use insurance or be willing to obtain.
• A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required.

Responsibilities

• As a Mobile Kitchen Assistant your main duties will be to assist the Catering Supervisor and existing team with the preparation and serving of school meals and maintaining the cleanliness of the school kitchen and all equipment used.
• Travel to various schools to provide cover for sickness and absences.
• Support delivery of meals and maintain hygiene standards across sites.
