Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an Assistant Cook for a permanent, part-time role (22.5 hours per week) working term-time only from 9:30am to 2:00pm at Djanogly Strelley Academy, Nottingham. You will assist with meal preparation and serving, and help run the kitchen in the Catering Supervisor's absence.

Experience in food prep, knowledge of hygiene standards, and strong customer care skills are required. DBS check and English language requirement apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation including vegetables and sauces.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations and their application in the kitchen.
• Knowledge of good customer care practice and experience of working in a customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of school meals.
• Occasionally responsible for day-to-day running of the school kitchen in the absence of the Catering Supervisor.
