Job summary

Nottingham City Council is looking for an Assistant Cook to join the school catering team. You will work alongside the Catering Supervisor to prepare and serve meals for pupils, and may take on running the kitchen in their absence.

The role is 22.5 hours per week, term time only, with a starting salary of £26,427 and progression to £27,274 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). DBS check and English language requirement apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation including vegetables and sauces.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations and their application in the kitchen.
• Knowledge of good customer care practice and experience of working in a customer focussed environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of school meals under the supervision of the Catering Supervisor.
• Help with day to day running of the school kitchen in the absence of the Catering Supervisor.
