Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Mobile Fitter (Mobile Plant Mechanic) to service and repair a wide range of plant equipment from a home depot, with work at depots and on customer sites. You will ensure equipment is safe, reliable and ready for hire, contributing to a high-performing fleet and customer service.

The role emphasises hands-on work, problem-solving, and career progression within a family-run business that values its people and health & safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plant mechanic/fitter or time-served background in related industry.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide range of plant and tool equipment within GAP fleet.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs both in depots and on customer sites.
• Completing servicing, inspections and repairs to maintain high safety and reliability.
• Updating service records, tagging equipment and completing test certificates.
• Working independently on customer sites while complying with health & safety requirements.
