Job summary

GAP are seeking a skilled Mobile Fitter to join our Plant & Tool division. Based from a home depot, you will service, maintain, and repair a fleet of diggers, dumpers and hand tools both at depots and on customer sites to ensure equipment is safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plant mechanic/fitter with a relevant qualification or time-served background.
• Solid knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance.
• Ability to work independently while supporting depot operations.
• Customer-focused mindset and collaborative team spirit.
• Full valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining GAP fleet plant and tool equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs at depots and on customer sites.
• Completing servicing, inspections, and repairs to high safety and reliability standards.
• Updating service records, tagging equipment, and handling paperwork.
• Working independently on customer sites while complying with GAP and customer Health & Safety requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, organised vehicle and workspace.
• Supporting general workshop and depot activities as required.
