Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a skilled Mobile Fitter to service and repair our fleet of diggers, dumpers and hand tools from a home depot and on customer sites. You'll keep equipment safe, reliable and ready to perform when customers need it.

The role offers hands-on work, opportunities for progression and a supportive team across our Plant & Tool division. A full driving licence is essential and you’ll work both in depots and on site, with focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience as plant mechanic or fitter with related qualification or time-served background.
• Knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and on customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide range of plant and tool equipment within the GAP fleet.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently, both in the depots and on customer sites.
• Completing servicing, inspections, and repairs to maintain high standards of safety and reliability.
• Accurately updating service records, tagging equipment, and completing test certificates and associated paperwork.
• Working independently on customer sites while complying with GAP and customer Health & Safety requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and well presented vehicle and workspace.
• Supporting general workshop and depot activities as required.
