Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to cover Cambridge and surrounding areas. The role offers servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and breakdown repairs on construction and agricultural machinery, with workshop support when required.

You will visit customer sites, perform inspections, and contribute to ongoing training and career development within a well-established team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter or similar role.
• Experience with construction or agricultural machinery is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• An engineering qualification or apprenticeship is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing mobile plant machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults to restore operation.
• Carrying out breakdown repairs on site and in the workshop as needed.
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Documenting service work and communicating findings to customers.
• Ensuring safety standards are met and high-quality workmanship delivered.

Mobile Plant Fitter - Cambridge | Up to £37,500 + Overtime + Van

We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a well-established business covering Cambridge and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for a varied field-based role, with ongoing training, strong benefits and long-term development.

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you'll visit customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and breakdown repairs across a range of construction and agricultural machinery. You'll also have workshop support when required and the opportunity to broaden your technical experience.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing construction and agricultural machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Carrying out breakdown repairs at customer sites
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Identifying further repair requirements and discussing these with customers
• Completing service documentation and job sheets
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Providing professional customer service

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Agricultural Engineer or similar
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Experience working with construction or agricultural machinery
• Good knowledge of hydraulic systems and diagnostics
• The ability to work independently and manage breakdowns effectively
• A full UK driving licence
• An engineering qualification or apprenticeship is desirable
