Job summary

Duncan & Todd Opticians is hiring a Mobile Customer Care Assistant to join our optical practices across the Tayside & Fife Hub. The role covers areas including Arbroath, Montrose, Forfar, Perth, Dundee and Broughty Ferry, with a mobile salary uplift.

As the first point of contact for patients, you will handle inquiries, assist with frame and lens choices, manage appointments, and support NHS paperwork and records. Training is provided for those new to optics.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer facing role, ideally in an optical environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic practice setting.
• Commitment to high standards of patient service and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient inquiries via telephone, email or in person and direct to the right staff.
• Manage the practice diary, balancing patient requests with staff availability.
• Assist patients with frame and lens selection on the shop floor.
• Demonstrate proper contact lens insertion and removal for patients.
• Process deliveries and collections of stock and maintain records.
• Keep NHS paperwork and patient databases up to date and tidy.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming practice environment.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
