Job summary

Duncan & Todd Opticians is seeking a Mobile Customer Care Assistant to support our Glasgow City Centre, Stirling and Dunfermline branches. You will be the first point of contact for patients and customers, handling queries, appointments, and product demonstrations.

Role involves assisting with frame and lens selection, NHS paperwork, stock processing, and back-office duties. A mobile salary uplift is included for this position. Training provided for optical-specific tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous but full training will be provided.
• Fast-paced and dynamic working environment experience desirable.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are expected.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient queries via telephone, email or in person and direct to the appropriate staff member.
• Manage the practice appointment diary with patient requests and staff availability in mind.
• Assist patients on the practice floor with frame and lens selection.
• Demonstrate to patients how to insert and remove contact lenses.

We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Customer Care Assistant to join our Duncan & Todd Opticians & Hearing Care branches across Glasgow City Centre, Stirling & Dunfermline. Due to the nature of this role you will be entitled to a mobile salary uplift.

Our Customer Care Assistants are the first point of contact for the patients and customers in our busy practices and this varied role comes with a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling all patient queries coming into the practice via telephone, email or in person. Assisting where able and directing inquiries to the most appropriate staff member.


• Managing the practice appointment diary giving consideration to patient appointment requests and staff availability.


• Assisting patients on the practice floor with frame and lens selection.


• Giving patients demonstrations on how to insert and remove contact lenses.


• Processing deliveries and collections of stock.


• Administration and maintenance of patient records, databases and NHS paperwork.


• General housekeeping duties to ensure the practice is clean, tidy and presentable.


• Other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Candidate Profile

• Experience within an optical environment would be advantage but full training would be provided
