Job summary

Duncan & Todd Opticians is seeking a Mobile Optical Assistant to join our Aberdeenshire branches and cover areas across Banff, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Ellon, Inverurie, and Keith. The role includes assisting patients with frames, lens selection, and contact lens demonstrations, while managing appointments and stock distributions.

This fixed-term contract for 12 months offers a mobile salary uplift and the opportunity to join a customer-focused team in busy practices.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient and customer queries via telephone, email or in person.
• Manage the practice appointment diary considering patient requests and staff availability.
• Assist patients on the practice floor with frame and lens selection.
• Demonstrate how to insert/remove contact lenses to patients.
• Process deliveries and stock collections and maintain NHS paperwork and records.
• Support general housekeeping to keep the practice clean and presentable.

Optical Assistant - Mobile - Aberdeenshire

We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Customer Care Assistant to join our Duncan & Todd Opticians & Hearing Care branches across Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate should be able to cover areas such as: Banff, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Ellon, Inverurie, and Keith. Due to the nature of this role you will be entitled to a mobile salary uplift.

Please note that this is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months with the potential to go permanent.

Our Customer Care Assistants are the first point of contact for the patients and customers in our busy practices and this varied role comes with a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling all patient queries coming into the practice via telephone, email or in person. Assisting where able and directing inquiries to the most appropriate staff member.
• Managing the practice appointment diary giving consideration to patient appointment requests and staff availability.
• Assisting patients on the practice floor with frame and lens selection.
• Giving patients demonstrations on how to insert and remove contact lenses.
• Processing deliveries and collections of stock.
• Administration and maintenance of patient records, databases and NHS paperwork.
• General housekeeping duties to ensure the practice is clean, tidy and presentable.
• Other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Candidate Profile

• Experience within an optical environment would be advantage but full training would be provided
