Job summary

The RAC is recruiting for its Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. You will work on pre-booked jobs at members’ homes or workplaces, with a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools; there are no emergency callouts and you’ll follow a structured schedule.

You’ll typically perform routine servicing, diagnostics, in-depth repairs, and provide member advice, all while ensuring RAC safety standards. A clear career path and development support are offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
