Job summary

Total Facilities Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified Mobile Maintenance Electrician to join our building services team. The role covers PPM, reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and remedial works across commercial properties within the M25 and surrounding areas.

This is a mobile position requiring excellent fault-finding skills, strong knowledge of electrical and building services systems, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience in commercial building services environments.
• Proven ability to carry out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Competent in fault finding, testing and inspection.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM on electrical systems and building services equipment.
• Undertake reactive maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and perform remedial repairs safely.
• Complete annual distribution board inspections and testing.
• Conduct EICR inspections and testing as required.
• Perform monthly emergency lighting inspections and testing.
• Maintain service records and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rota, including out-of-hours.

Mobile Maintenance Electrician

Location: Within the M25 and a 25-mile radius

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Overtime + Call Out Payments

The Role

We are seeking a qualified and self-motivated Mobile Maintenance Electrician to join our growing building services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and remedial works across a variety of commercial properties within the M25 and surrounding areas.

This is a mobile role requiring excellent technical knowledge, strong fault-finding abilities, and a proactive approach to maintaining electrical and building services systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and associated building services equipment.
• Undertake reactive maintenance and respond to breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out remedial repairs efficiently and safely.
• Complete annual distribution board inspections and testing.
• Conduct EICR inspections and testing in line with 5-year certification requirements.
• Perform annual 3-hour emergency lighting tests.
• Carry out monthly emergency lighting inspections and reporting.
• Complete routine monthly lighting checks across client sites.
• Assist with the maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate service records, test certificates, and maintenance documentation.
• Participate in the on-call rota, including both standard and out-of-hours call-outs.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience working within commercial building services environments.
• Proven experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Competent in fault finding, testing and inspection.
• Knowledge and experience of HVAC systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Desirable

• ECS Gold Card.
• Experience completing EICRs and emergency lighting testing.
• Previous experience in a mobile maintenance role.
