Job summary

Thames Water Ltd is seeking an Instrumentation, Controls & Automation Technician to join the Camberley team. The role covers mobile duties at Sewage Pumping Stations and boreholes, with a focus on safe, efficient operations and on-site equipment optimisation.

You will work with SCADA systems and PLCs, perform installations, commissioning, maintenance and repairs, and provide technical support to apprentices and contractors. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified in instrumentation, control & automation with relevant certifications.
• Experience with relay logic, PLCs and fault-finding from circuit diagrams.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and process control networks.
• Knowledge of safety standards (BS7671) and operational plant control.
• Ability to read diagrams and diagnose instrumentation issues.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets (level, flow and turbidity sensors).
• Operate SCADA/PLC based control systems; troubleshoot and optimise processes.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers; provide technical guidance and training.
