Job summary

Nottingham-based Mobile HGV Technician position offering a permanent role with a competitive salary and mobile service van. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs at various locations including customer sites and depots, diagnosing faults and ensuring roadworthy condition.

Applicants should have City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and a full UK driving licence, with Class 1/2 licences advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mobile servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs at customer premises, depots and roadside locations.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently using diagnostic equipment and industry-standard repair methods.
• Attending customer sites to carry out planned maintenance, inspections and reactive repairs.
• Identifying and rectifying vehicle defects to minimise downtime and ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy.
• Following manufacturer guidelines, warranty procedures and industry standards when completing repairs.
• Completing job cards, inspection reports and all relevant repair documentation accurately.
• Managing daily workloads and travelling between customer locations to deliver a professional and efficient service.
• Identifying and reporting any additional vehicle defects or repair requirements to the relevant management team.
