Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile HGV Technician for a field-based role in East London / Purfleet. The position offers a £45,000 basic salary plus a £1,500 joining bonus and overtime paid at 1.25x hourly rate.

Working hours are Monday to Friday days with no weekends, and a comprehensive benefits package is included. The role involves diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles, preparing vehicles for MOT testing, and ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician.
• Full UK Class 1 HGV driving licence is required.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Able to pass employment vetting checks.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out inspections, maintenance and fault finding to manufacturer standards.
• Prepare commercial vehicles for MOT testing.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and legal requirements.
• Work on a fleet including Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Ford vehicles.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and maintain high workmanship standards.

Mobile HGV Technician Role

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.


• Carry out inspections, maintenance and fault finding to manufacturer standards.


• Prepare commercial vehicles for MOT testing.


• Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and legal requirements.


• Work on a fleet including Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Ford commercial vehicles.

• Provide excellent customer service whilst working independently in the field.

Mobile HGV Technician Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent City & Guilds / recognised apprenticeship).
