Job summary

Precision People is seeking a Mobile Facilities Maintenance Engineer to service commercial sites across the East and West Midlands, including Leicester and surrounding areas. The role covers reactive, preventative and planned maintenance with a strong plumbing and general handyman element.

You will travel to customer sites, manage diaries, and ensure work is completed to high standards. A full UK driving licence and hands-on experience are essential, with weekend on-call rotation and ongoing

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years facilities maintenance or handyperson experience.
• Plumbing qualification or hands-on plumbing experience.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Experience with fabric repairs: carpentry, doors, painting.
• Willingness to work weekends on on-call rota.
• Ability to work independently and plan routes.
• Strong communication with clients.
• Highly motivated and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites in the Midlands and surrounding areas.
• Carry out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance of commercial facilities.
• Carry out general plumbing repairs (leaky pipes, taps, toilets, doors, hinges).
• Ensure sites operate safely and effectively.
• Prepare, implement and monitor weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules.
• Manage your own diary and travel logistics.
• Complete tasks to the required standards within timescales.

My client holds several key commercial contracts across the UK. They are currently seeking a Mobile Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join their team and maintain top-quality service for their clients. This role will cover the East and West Midlands area.

Ideal locations will include Leicester, Nuneaton, Coalville, Bedworth, Atherstone, Loughborough or Nottingham.

Other job titles could include Facilities Maintenance Engineer, Building Maintenance Operative, Maintenance Plumber, Fabric Technician, Facilities Engineer, Maintenance Assistant, Mobile FM Engineer, Building Services Engineer, Handyperson or Mobile Handyperson.

The Role: Mobile Handyperson:

• Travelling to customer sites in the Midlands and surrounding.
• Carrying out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance of commercial facilities.
• Carrying out general plumbing repairs on anything from leaky pipes, replacing taps, unblocking toilets to fixing doors and hinges
• Ensuring that services and facilities within the site operate effectively, efficiently and safely
• Preparation, implementation and monitoring of weekly, monthly and annual planned preventative maintenance schedules
• Managing own diary and travel logistics
• Ensure standards of work are maintained and tasks are completed within the given timescale

Experience Required - Facilities Maintenance Engineer:

• Has a minimum of 2 years of Facilities Maintenance or Handyperson experience
• Holds a plumbing qualification or equivalent hands-on experience (fault finding or repairing plumbing appliances)
• Must hold a Full clean UK driving licence
• Experience with fabric repairs - carpentry, door locks, wall trims, painting/decorating
• Able to work weekends as part of the on-call rota
• Ability to work under own initiative and plan working routes
• Strong communication skills with clients
• Happy with early starts to drive to customer sites
• Willingness to take any further appropriate training
• Highly motivated

Package Details - Mobile Facilities Maintenance Engineer:

• £15 per hour pay rate
• 45 hours working week Monday - Friday
• x1.5 paid overtime (OTE £45k-£50k)
• Additional £200 on-call payment 1 week in 3
• Company Van and Fuel card
• 29 Days Holiday (inclusive of Statutory Bank Holidays)
