Job summary

Gps Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Facilities Maintenance Engineer to service two sites in the UK, working on electrical and mechanical PPMs and reactive tasks. You will operate across Huddersfield and Leicester, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring contract standards.

The role requires a qualified, time-served Electrician with 18th Edition and a full UK driving licence. This is a mobile, on-site position with day-shift hours and travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Qualified, time-served Electrician with a relevant Level 3 electrical qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Proven experience in commercial facilities/building services maintenance.
• Experience undertaking both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Electrical/ mechanical PPMs and reactive maintenance.
• Complete all CAFM paperwork for PPM, reactive, and breakdowns.
• Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for tasks to ensure safe working practices.
• Cultivate relationships with staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Ensure a Safe and Healthy working environment with PPE adherence.
• Supervise and monitor subcontractors' maintenance activities on site.
• Adhere to KPIs and SLAs.
• Maintain the CAFM system and close tickets with data.
• Operate a Permit to Work System under SHEQ processes.

Role: Mobile Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Location: Huddersfield/Leicester (Dual site work)
Hours: Monday - Friday (Day Shift - travel required)

Main Purpose of the Role

Ensure the effective delivery of planned and reactive facilities maintenance across multiple sites, maintaining the reliability, safety, and operational continuity of critical building services.

The role

You will ensure compliance with contractual KPIs, SLAs, SHEQ requirements, and client standards while coordinating engineering activities and supporting subcontractors and stakeholders.

Role Description

As Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will have experience in the commercial/mechanical sector and will be carrying out all areas of planned and reactive maintenance. You will be working as a mobile engineer between 2 sites. You will be a qualified, time served Electrician.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical/mechanical PPMs and reactive maintenance.
• Complete all relevant paperwork and CAFM documentation for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works, ensuring timely submission to the contract administrator.
• Prepare and utilise Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
• Cultivate positive relationships with staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Ensure a Safe and Healthy working environment, including adherence to uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Supervise and monitor subcontractors' maintenance activities on site.
• Adhere to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain the CAFM system, ensuring accurate closure of PPM and reactive tickets with captured data.
• Operate a Permit to Work System in line with Technical and Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) processes, or client-specific requirements.

Required Qualification/Experience/Skills

• Qualified, time-served Electrician with a relevant Level 3 electrical qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
