Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to service multiple sites within the Midlands, including Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent. You will perform mechanical works, plumbing, boilers and heating system maintenance as part of a Facilities Management team.

The role offers £40,000 per annum plus a van and fuel card, 24 days’ holiday (increasing to 25 after 2 years), overtime, and learning opportunities. A full driving licence and DBS check are required, with on-call duties included.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering including PPMs and reactive maintenance.
• Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing is desirable.
• Full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical works in a commercial setting, including plumbing, boilers and heating systems.
• Cover multiple sites within the contract such as Stoke Schools and Guide Dogs.
• Ensure all PPMs are carried out and logged in real time with appropriate comments.
• Complete paperwork for PPM, reactive and breakdown works and pass to contract administrator.
• Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments to maintain safe working practices.
• Take part in the on-call rota.

Brief

Mobile Mechanical Engineer needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in the Midlands who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of Mechanical Engineering including, PPM's and reactive maintenance including general plumbing, boilers, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systems.

The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant qualification- i.e. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing etc. and have a keen interest in Mechanical Engineering. If you have commercial experience in maintenance in a facilities management environment that would be a plus!

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mobile Mechanical Engineer will include:

• Carry out Mechanical works in a commercial setting, including general plumbing, boilers, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systems etc.
• Cover numerous sites that fall within the contract such as Stoke Schools and Guide Dogs
• Ensure all PPM is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification and documented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel times with appropriate comments to evidence completion of work
• Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to always ensure safe working practices
• Take part in the on-call rota

What experience you need to be the successful Mobile Mechanical Engineer:

• A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential
• C&G Level 3 Plumbing desirable
• Must have a full drivers' licence
• This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check therefore ability to pass is essential.
