Job summary

NHS Property Services Ltd. is seeking an experienced Technical Services Supervisor to lead day-to-day engineering services across NHS properties in Southampton and the SO postcode area.

Based at Royal South Hants Hospital, you will oversee a team of engineers and contractors, ensuring safe and compliant delivery of maintenance activities. You will manage planned and reactive works, drive safety and regulatory compliance, and support operational performance to keep healthcare environments safe

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in building services, facilities management, estates, or similar engineering environment.
• Demonstrable experience leading, supervising, or managing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems and maintenance practices.
• Experience managing contractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise engineers and technicians across multiple NHS sites.
• Manage planned preventative maintenance and reactive works to ensure service delivery standards.
• Ensure activities comply with statutory regulations, NHS standards and safety requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance and support specialist maintenance delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to operational teams and stakeholders.
• Support compliance management and maintain accurate records.
• Investigate faults and coordinate remedial works.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and estates services.
• Participate in the on-call rota and support business continuity.
• Build effective relationships with internal teams, customers and contractors.
