Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Supervisor (Mechanical) to oversee day-to-day mechanical maintenance across multiple sites. You will lead directly employed trades and contractors, plan workloads, and ensure delivery of essential services in a high-demand NHS setting.

The role requires substantial experience in mechanical plant, leadership of teams, and strong knowledge of safety, compliance, and lifecycle planning.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
• Five years' post-apprenticeship experience.
• AP training or appointment in water safety, ventilation or related areas.
• HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent higher technical qualification.
• Current formal AP appointment in one or more relevant disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, planned, reactive and corrective maintenance across mechanical systems.
• Plan workloads, allocate labour, contractors, and materials to meet service goals.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety, codes, and lifecycle plans.
• Coordinate with estates management and on-call rota to ensure service continuity.
